Forever Autumn

I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky,
...and one by one they disappear.....
            J Wayne, G Osborne, P Vigrass

Well....thankfully not all of them!

0600 - 0800 cloudy but clearing, cool but warming SW f1-3

Autumn approaches rapidly....in bird terms its already here.....58 Swallows certainly making a point by slowly moving across site south easterly....

Apples

Ok....this is THE apple tree on site...

Not a huge amount of action on site...plenty of Blackcaps chakking along the way with Chiffchaffs for company.  There was a reasonable sized flock of, mostly, Long-tail Tits accompanied by Blue Tits, Chiffchaffs and I saw at least one yellow Willow Warbler.

Flowers are still....er...flowering...the Toadflax is at its best right now.....

Common Toadflax, Linaria vulgaris

Other birds on site included....

Wren, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Crow, Magpie, Goldfinch, Goldcrest, Buzzard, Green Woodpecker, Dunnock, Kestrel, Jay, Whitethroat, Robin, Great Tit, Jackdaw, Reed Warbler

30 Mallard, 1 Mandarin Duck, 14 Greylag Geese, 6 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Black-headed Gull, 8 Herring Gull, 56 Coot, 23 Tufted Duck, 4 Mute Swan, 8 Moorhen, 1 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron
