Barancle Return

0915 - 1100 bright but clouding over slowly, quite chilly W f2-3

Herringbone skies.....

A quick visit to see if anything new had turned up....covered about half the site...no new warblers but plenty of Chiffchaffs to listen to and see....

Several Buzzards were around the site.....and as per usual of late there is plenty of Bullfinches all over the site but easily located along the south side of the pits....

On the water....now down to 4 Gadwall...loads of Tufted Ducks, Coots which probably make up the larger numbers of birds.....

Mute Swans making nests.....a solitary Teal was present in island pit though I'm sure some friends will be around.....Shovelers and 3 Pochard were also present there....

2 Mandarins, 4 Goldeneye and....

...the return of the Barnacle Goose...on island pit...

....was milling around with a handful of Canada Geese....the Greylags and more Canadas were in the field south of the pits....

A Little Egret was present...then flew...

...to join a Grey Heron, though didn't get that in the picture above....
